Longwood Gardens, a 1000 acre, 100 year old icon out of Collegeville, PA delved into the Trade Show Industry this past January by exhibiting at the Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg, PA.
When Longwood Gardens decided that they didn’t want a booth, but instead a building, the Nimlok Philadelphia design team met the challenge head on. Through a collaborative design effort between Longwood Gardens and the Nimlok designers, they created a building that abstracted the Orangery, part of the iconic Conservatory and the heart of the floral displays of Longwood Gardens. Nimlok made the Longwood Gardens exhibit so unique that patrons did not walk up to a booth, but actually through it experiencing raised ceilings, stately columns and the arched windows of the framed Conservatory. “Creating a whole building is totally out of the norm for the exhibiting industry” stated Ed Oxenham of Nimlok Philadelphia. “To attract the most attention, we recreated the arched windows, the unique raised ceilings and the columns, all in a 20 x 40 exhibit.” Karen Cohen, Nimlok Philadelphia managing partner states, “The initiative was a win all around. Our team found a way to bring the beautiful botanicals of Longwood Gardens to a trade show in the middle of winter and Longwood Gardens has discovered a new way to market it’s rich traditions.” |
