It was April 2nd, 1981, when father Gerald Perutz and son Simon Perutz founded the Nimlok Company near Chicago, IL. It all started when Gerald Perutz, a Nimlok “founding father” who sat on the board of directors of Nimlok Ltd. In the UK, suggested that his 23-year-old son, Simon Perutz, assume the responsibility of getting the US division of Nimlok Company off the ground.

Simon proved himself a smart business leader by not only launching the company, but also by establishing Nimlok as an industry leader, growing it’s partner distribution network, changing it’s internal structure, successfully reshaping it’s brand identity and reaching it’s $1 billion dollar sales goal – all within 25 years.

By 1990, Nimlok company was a successful leader of the industry in North America with a strong and leading product range, and export activities in Latin America, Japan and Korea. When founder Neil Nimmo died in the early 90’s the Perutz family bought 100% of the shares in Nimlok Ltd. and Nimlok Company and Gerald’s other son Tim took over as Managing Director of Nimlok Ltd.

In 2004, Simon made a bold move by changing the successful business model it had used for years by innovating the Branded Distributor Partner Program, which turned Nimlok Distributors into branded partners. This program enabled Nimlok to build even closer, more personal relationships with their partners as well as companies buying their exhibits.

In 25 years, Nimlok Company has grown from a Simon plus one employee operation to a 386 employee company with more than 56 authorized distributor partners. “The first 25 years have been very exciting and we’re looking forward to the next 25 years and beyond,” remarks Simon Perutz.

Scott Rudel and Larry Ciccotti attended the Nimlok Breakfast at the Exhibitor Show in Las Vegas in March this year. This event featured a short speech about the success of the company by Gerald Perutz. Simon Perutz introduced guests to the meeting such as Rob Wilson of Employco, Rudel and Ciccotti. A presentation was given showing distributors and key people sharing their remarks about Nimlok in this breakout year. After a series of awards, Simon Perutz spoke to the distributors about Nimlok’s partnership with Sho-Link. Simon also spoke about Sho-Link’s efforts to make them successful with their clients and encouraged them to continue to work with us.

After the meeting, Rudel and Ciccotti both went around and introduced themselves to the different distributors in attendance. It proved to be a beneficial meeting for Sho-Link and Nimlok.
