For the last year, Sho-Link has been slowly and steadily rebuilding our team in New Orleans. In that time we have retained a new City Manager, we have been building a strong and competent team of carpenters and leads, and we have been rebuilding our stock of supplies, equipment and vehicles. As time has gone on we have had numerous successful shows, but New Orleans really took the spotlight at the HIMSS Show, February 26 - March 1, 2007, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
Sho-Link was contracted for 14 jobs at this year’s HIMSS Show. This show took a labor call of approximately 28 carpenters 1157 hours to install and dismantle. We had 8 men sent in for support from Chicago, Houston, Charlotte, Atlanta and Orlando, and Regional Operations Manager Rob West was also present at the show. Sho-Link handled a wide range of booths from 10x10 exhibits to 40x50 islands. SoftMed Systems, a Derse Exhibits booth, had a stunning 30x50 island exhibit, which took 256 hours to install and dismantle; while Hitachi, an ICON Exhibits client, wowed the crowd with their 20x30 booth which took 95 hours to complete. The CGI booth from Derse SRS was an amazing 40x50 set which took 86 hours to install and dismantle.
Sho-Link also handled 4 other jaw-dropping exhibits from Member companies Derse Exhibits and Nimlok Displays & Exhibit Solutions. This show installed and dismantled with few challenges and proved extremely successful for Sho-Link and our clients. “I wish all shows were as smooth as this one was," stated John Hryniewich, New Orleans City Manager. New Orleans is quickly rebuilding and is taking off with flying colors. Sho-Link is excited to see what the future holds for New Orleans. |
