On August 7, 2006 the Midwest Chapter of the EDPA Randy Smith Charity Golf Outing was again held at Maple Meadows Golf Club in Wood Dale, IL.

     Sho-Link, along with many other companies, sponsored individual holes and donated to help raise money that directly benefits families in the Trade Show Industry who have suffered personal tragedies.

     Last years regional event raised over $10,000 in contributions and although the numbers for this year have not been totaled it is expected to exceed last years totals.

     Last year one of the recipients was Chicago carpenter Brian Nickorish, a Sho-Link employee who suffered permanent injuries from a swimming accident. This year another Sho-Link family member will be the beneficiary. Stephanie Watkins, whose husband Randy Watkins, Sho-Link’s Assistant City Manager in Orlando, passed away suddenly last year.

     The recipients will all be honored at the National Randy Smith Golf Outing in Atlanta this summer. Sho-Link is very appreciative of all the work and dedication from the people who volunteered their time and efforts to make this a great event and we ask that everyone help to support this event.

     Sho-Link participated in the Annual Chicago Electricians Golf outing this year. This golf outing has become more than just a tradition, as the proceeds go to a pre-selected family of a Chicago Electrician that has been affected by a tragedy. This year’s benefit was in memory of Jerry Cody, an electrician who passed away last year. His family was present at the outing to welcome all the attendees.

     For the past 6 years Sho-Link has participated in this event by both sponsoring a hole and putting their own foursome on the course. This event is attended and sponsored by dozens of local and national vendors.

     Besides being for a great cause, this outing also proves to be a great meeting place for people in all fields of the Trade Show Industry. Sho-Link looks forward to being involved and sponsoring this event for many years to come.
