The CTIA Wireless Show, whose over 40,000 attendees gather from over 100 different countries was held March 27th-29th in Orlando and proved a challenge for City Manager, Jeff Brosseau. On top of the magnificent booths at the show, he also had to balance the 8 other shows happening simultaneously around the city. CTIA called for a total of 60 men, 6 of which were sent in as support from around the country to complete the installation and dismantle of the 13 booths that Sho-Link had on the show floor. 40 of those men were assigned to the 90x100 Samsung booth which required 2 days of around the clock labor. Ken Broadbent (Sho-Link Vice President), Jeff Brosseau (Sho-Link City Manager), Mark McLain (Derse) as well as a few other Derse personnel were involved in pre-show planning for this enormous booth to ensure the smooth coordination of rigging needed to install the 90x100 hanging sign for the booth.
“I would like to commend Steve Mott, Jim Streicher and Adam Fredricks for their hard work in supervising other shows running throughout the city during CTIA Wireless” says Brosseau, “and I would also like to thank the Orlando crew, the support teams from Chicago, Atlanta and Miami, and Ken Broadbent for his participation and help on the Samsung booth from the estimating process through the entire installation.” Other booths at the CTIA Wireless Show were CellStar, a 50x50 booth, from Derse, Brightpoint North America, also a 50x50 booth from Hamilton Exhibits and Sprint Communications had a beautiful 20x30 booth from Derse, as well as many others.
Compliments to Sho-Link:
Jeff Brosseau, Sho-Link Orlando City Manager, took the many challenges that came his way at this years NEXPO Show in stride. Held at the Orange County Convention Center on April 21st-24th, 2007, Sho-Link handled 3 remarkable booths, Goss International, Megtec and Quark. Goss International, a Derse booth was a breathtaking 60x60 set which took 6 men, 5 days to install and presented some small set backs, one which required the Sho-Link team to build a crate at show close in order to ship out one of the Goss machines.
A 4-man team installed Derse’s brilliant 20x40 Megtec exhibit in two days and gave Sho-Link the opportunity to show our clients we strive to provide top notch customer service. “These guys were a real pleasure to work with,” states Barb Wingo, Derse, of the crew she worked with on the Megtec booth. When some of the booth graphics arrived late, Sho-Link did not hesitate to hand carry the graphics through the front door of the convention center in order to save the client the hassle and added stress of possible delays through receiving. Sho-Link was also able to help many of the truck drivers that were unfamiliar with the dropping off of international shipments and were more than happy to answer all their questions on how to get around the convention hall. |
