On May 24, 2007, The World of Coke Museum, located in Atlanta’s Centennial Park opened to the public. This 100 million dollar building replaces the original museum in the “Underground” Atlanta. It has a 60’ water wall, three theaters and a complete bottling plant to show the public how Coke is made. There is also a tasting room for people to sample 70 of the company’s 400 beverages. One of the historical highlights of the museum is the 1939 distributors’ truck from Argentina. It is expected to receive 1.2 million visitors this year alone. This project, from Design & Production took six men, working two months, seven days a week and ten hours a day to complete. Also working alongside Sho-Link were two wall hangers, four glazers to set all the glass doors and electricians to wire up all the signs and display cases. Sho-Link had to work hand-in-hand with the general contractor and architects to make sure all the progress went according to the contractors’ plans. When freight was delivered, it was unloaded with a LULL on a dirt field and then brought into the building. There were daily planning meetings to coordinate the work on this project around the approximate 300 other trades people in the building in order to avoid any conflicts that would impede the progress. Completed on May 1st, this is yet another testimony to Sho-Link’s ability to produce museum projects.
